About This Blend

Masala Chai – literally, spiced tea – is made with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs, like cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and star anise. There is generally no fixed recipe for Masala Chai tea in India and traditionally, many families have their own versions of the tea. Our blending philosophy is to use high-quality spices with strong, aromatic character and to carefully balance the competitive notes of cardamom against the mouth-numbing cloves and strong cinnamon. Evoke the mystery of far-off lands with a cup of this richly-spiced elixir of loose leaf Masala Chai tea.

Your FAQs, Answered
For Masala Chai

Chai means tea. Therefore, there's no need in asking for a "chai tea", because you are simply saying "tea" twice!

The word "Masala" means a spice mixture ground into a paste or powder. Masala Chai – literally, spiced tea – is made with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs. There is generally no fixed recipe for Masala Chai tea in India and traditionally, many families have their own versions of the tea.

Life is about balance. Many drink our Masala Chai as part of their daily morning ritual (often with steamed oatmilk) or as an afternoon pick me up. If you are preparing yours with whip cream (for a decadent chai), or with a splash of spirit (for a naughty chai), well, let's be honest, that might be a bit indulgent for everyday. But listen to your body, be mindful, and if in doubt, seek professional advice from your health professional.

As our Masala Chai contains caffeine, if you are caffeine sensitive you will want to pay attention to what time of day you enjoy this blend (or switch to our naturally caffeine-free Herbal Chai). Otherwise, if caffeine sensitivity is not a concern, whenever you feel like going on a decadent journey via your tea cup, or when you're feeling full (for chai's carminative properties).

Best Homemade Chai

This is the second brand of chai I have tried for a homemade chai latte and this tea hit it out of the park. It has the delicate spiciness which goes great with the sweetness of the milk and sugar. Definitely recommend if you love chai lattes.

Wonderfull and rich flavor.

A really great tea and quality that has been delivered. At times, since its loose tea, you might get it a bit to spicy, at least for my taste but never to the point where it was to much or unpleasant. I drink this tea at all occasions but never in the evening... Greatly recommended.

Wonderful flavors

Delicious aroma and flavor profiles. Lots of complexity. Some of the ground spices/tea is actually a powder so I recommend brewing it directly in the cup for maximum flavor. Also be careful when measuring it out that this isn’t wasted on the counter.
