Estate grade green tea
Sencha Fukujyu Cha is harvested in the famous tea growing region of Shizuoka Prefecture, adjacent to the mountainous Fujiyama. Our blenders typically select Senchas from the shincha ("new tea") in late May. Top quality Senchas are harvested as young tender shoots every four or five days early in the season, and steamed for 20 seconds to denature the leaf enzymes and prevent fermentation.

- Dec 2013
We have been avid Tealeaves Sencha drinkers since Dec 2013. From the delicate leaves to the light sweetness and soft palate taste without any harsh aftertaste, this tea is very special. The same quality has been maintained thru the years. The excellent packaging keeps it fresh, even in the larger 200 cup tin. Thank You! (And Stay Safe)
