About This Blend

The history of Ti Kuan Yin, or Iron Goddess of Mercy, is steeped in rich legend. In a dilapidated stone temple in Fujian Province stood an elegant statue of Guan Yin. Each day, a poor farmer, struggling from a harsh drought, visited the temple to pray, light incense, and respectfully sweep the floor. One day, the statue came to life and, in gratitude, offered the farmer a Camellia Sinensis plant, instructing him to nurture it and share it with his neighbors. She promised the plant would yield a remarkable reward. The farmer obeyed, and from this humble act of care, the world’s most treasured oolong, Iron Goddess of Mercy, was born.
