Jewel of Seiffen
Named after the German town of Seiffen, where nutcrackers were first crafted, this cocktail brings rich and creamy Nutcracker tea to life with a dash of rum and Creme de Cacao.
Notes from Jesse Dureka, Mixologist at The Rittenhouse:
“We spent a half hour each day for a week to experiment with the amount and type of sugar added to best complement the tea’s palate. In the end, we decided on muscovado, which has a slight molasses taste, and really highlighted the notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and hazelnut in the tea. Using the white sugar just made it sweet but added little complexity.”
