Jan Vanhaelewyn


Director of Food & Beverage Jan Vanhaelewyn brings 10 years of Food & Beverage experience to The Westin Guadalajara. For the last 8 years, Jan has been a part of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, a renowned luxury hotel group.

Prior to his arrival at The Westin Guadalajara, Jan was the Food & Beverage Outlets Manager at the Le Meridien Ra Beach Resort & Spa where he managed and recruited food & beverage staff. Jan was also tasked to lead the re-conceptualization and renovation of the restaurant. In addition, his experience as Resident Manager of The Hacienda Luxury Collection Hotels in Temozon and in San Jose allowed him to be a mentor to his food & beverage team not only from a customer service standpoint but also meeting the corporate goals with cost control and quality assurance.

Jan graduated from the Erasmus University in Brussels with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management. His specialization in event management to culinary business management to resort management gave him the fundamental skills to become the successful food & beverage professional that he is.

A passionate hotelier with experience in travelling abroad and immersing himself in the different cultures, Jan brings the passion and appreciation of good food & wine to The Westin Guadalajara.
